So, my friend Diana shared a meme over on Facebook that read:
“Find three hobbies you love.
One that makes you money.
One that keeps you active.
One that lets you be creative.”
I thought this was great advice. Especially since I have two out of three of those covered already, right? I make a little money with drawing -and- I get to be creative. Now I just needed one to keep (or get) me fit…
My first thought was belly dancing. I have all the accouterments as I’ve taken classes and have loads of videos to do at home. So, I decided and got started. It was fun, shimmying around my living room to belly dance videos. Surprisingly, it was not giving me much of a workout though. -_-
I needed something a little more intense… Since we already have a little home gym in our bedroom that has basically served as a clothes hanger for two years *haha* I thought body building might be the way to go – and so far, it is… I get a great work out that I can feel throughout the day (and the next day O_O). On top of this, it gets my husband off the computer for a couple hours every day since he’s the ‘expert’ and now my personal trainer… ^_~
(As difficult as it is to get my old man to do much of anything I did not get a single complaint when I asked him to help me ‘build my body’. Surprise, surprise eh?? hahaha Men!)
So now he is getting in shape as well, and we’re spending time together. We’ve been going through a rough patch that I haven’t been sure we would make it through. Working out together has unexpectedly proven to bring us a little closer. It feels good when he compliments me on how hard I work out (“this is one area where your stubborness pays off”) and he feels loved when I make him do all his laps on the treadmill.
But body building is taking so much more time than my 30-minute belly dance videos. We spend a good 45 minutes to an hour weight training then another hour on cardio. It’s really eating into my coloring time. Unfortunately, I have no coloring of either of the releases this week 🙁
Basically I’m going to have to get my time management skills together because I really love both new releases and am so bummed that I didn’t get to color either of them. Bookworm Fable is my favorite Fable ever. She’s so me 😀
But I hope I get to see what you do with them!!! So please make sure you pop in to the FB group to share your makes ^_^
Speaking of Facebook… I am having a little Pretty Girls with Wings and Things coloring book giveaway on the Faery Ink social medias in February. Roxie Green Fae of Spring
I’m so over winter and it’s barely begun. I keep trying to be a winter girl but my love for cool weather ends with Autumn. The only thing I can abide about winter is sitting in a warm house with hot cocoa, watching the snow fall outside. Once I set foot outside – I’m done with winter lol. So, I am ready for Spring!!! What about you? What’s your favorite season???
This week meet Roxie the Green Fae of Spring. She comes fluttering through the fields sprinkling her faery dust that helps the snow to melt and the little seeds to burst open and grow…

I just love to get lost in a good book. Give me a good fantasy novel or paranormal romance and I am set for the weekend. I used to read every self-help book I could get my hands on but I realized after a while they were making me crazier than I already am so now I have a strict no self-help books policy 😉
What kind of books do you like to read????
