September at Faery Ink… It’s been quiet..

But October.. that’s gonna be a whole different story…

Since I haven’t been getting any of the weekly posts up or any newsletters out I thought I would give a little rundown of the month in this blog post as well as a peek at what’s to come in October.

In September…

In September, we had our final Destiny in Oz – The Wicked Witch of the West Elphaba. I am so disappointed that I didn’t get to color her as she is, by far, my favorite of the series. I will be sure to color her in the future. She is going to get a spot on the wall in my lady den =)

Then we had our usual four weekly releases, as well as six bonus releases including a $1 digi “Nevermore Raven”, a couple “nudie” pin ups, a memorial angel, a cute little Halloween ghost and jack, and a saucy Autumn Rose for the coffee lovers that was part of the digis I started forever ago and never finished up. Did I mention you can still use coupon code 1dayfae for 30% off your order through the weekend????

Our One Day Fae was originally scheduled for the 15th, but I missed it (yes, it’s been that crazy around here) so I rescheduled it for the 20th than forgot to post it through the newsletter. Sooo it’s on sale in the shop for FREE for the weekend, so anyone on the newsletter will get the email I send out after this post goes live and still be able to get her for free. I have been a terrible webmistress this month. Absolutely terrible.

Other than these things I’ve managed to get next to nothing done this month as I’ve been helping my mother buy a house here in Ohio, move into it from Canada, and getting paperwork together to get her Canadian husband his green card. The first two have been accomplished and we’ve got all the paperwork in for the third so right now we are mostly just sitting on our hands waiting for customs to do their part. Along with this has been the usual stuff: getting the kids in school, adjusting to new medications since being diagnosed bipolar 2, going to court with 12 year olds that like to explore abandoned houses, being a bit freaked out to discover a serial killer squatting in an abandoned house six blocks down the road.

So I am glad that September is nearly over because I’m ready to get back to my usual routine! =) Speaking of September ending… Vannessa Hasty (one of our wonderful designers!) generously took over the Facebook challenges for me this month. She is running the Warm Colors challenge which ends in a week!

FB Challenge Warm Colors

I am spending this last week of September finishing up some drawing tutorials I started back in August but had to put on the back burner thanks to all the other stuff. Hopefully *crosses fingers* I will have a little tutorial section opened up in the first week of October.

Ahhh *sigh* October…

If a house doesn’t fall on me, you can expect to see the first handful of drawing tutorials being added during the first week of October. I might not have -everything- I have planned for the tutorials together by then, but tutorials will be available at least. The interactive stuff may have to come in the weeks following, we’ll see.

Our releases in October are primarily “holiday” themed with my first Hanukkah stamp release as well as Christmas themed digis. So if you are ready for Christmas, you’ll be happy to see the new releases on their way.

I’ve also set a goal to have my first coloring book ready for release on Halloween. I’m looking at 25 different images and having a a few copies of the book in hand for a few giveaways. I am going to make Inktober my coloring page goals haha..

Paula is kindly hosting a Halloween flip book swap for us. If you’re not in the Faery Ink Swaps group over on FB but would like to participate, you need to join – and hurry! Sign up ends October 8th!!

Join the Swap!

She also made a great tutorial for putting together a flip book very easily…

Psst… I can’t go into too much detail, but make sure you pop in around the 13th as Faery Ink and a few other artists from Markers! Papers! Digis! have some Halloween fun planned =)

Feel free to snag this infographic to keep up with all the fun stuff planned for October!

Have a fantastic weekend!
