One Day Fae Digi Giveaway – Bella Dragon Fae

posted in: Creativity, Events | 79

This month is a different kind of faery…

It is getting quite hot in my part of the world so I thought for July we would celebrate the faeries with one that breathes fire… Unfortunately, I nearly ran out of time to color and when I finally sat down to color I messed her up :( So there is no pretty coloring to share with you here.. I’m so sorry! But I know that you will do a wonderful job of bringing her to life… And I will share with you the mess I made of her anyway ;) I love everything about her but my E11 was gunky and messed up her skin as you can tell by the texture and the dark spots… Oh well. We live and learn right?

Thanks for a beautiful image x

Loved this song as a youngster,

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Little Jackie paper loved that rascal puff,
And brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff. oh

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee.

Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail
Jackie kept a lookout perched on puffs gigantic tail,
Noble kings and princes would bow whene’r they came,
Pirate ships would lower their flag when puff roared out his name. oh!

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee.

Dragons live forever but not so little boys
Painted wings and giant strings make way for other toys.
One sad night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more
And Puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar.

His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain,
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane.
Without his life-long friend, puff could not be brave,
So puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave. oh!

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee.

Thank you for such a beautiful image!! I love all things mystical and this surely fits for me. Fantasy is such an escape from the hustle and bustle of my real world. Yes I’m boring but that’s OK because my imagination takes me away with these types of images.

Where I was born, Asturias in the North of Spain, dragons are named “cuélebres”, a kind of a snake with wings. I attach you a link in the wikipedia ( There are many legends, and they guard golden treasures.

  54. Marie-Anne

She’s gorgeous. Thank you for this stunning image. The dragon that came to my mind is Kilgharrah from the serie Merlin.

Meddle not in the affairs of Dragons… For thou art crunchy and good with ketchup.

    Creative Blessings, Tracy x

  58. Lynn Harris

In Chinese mythology, the Dragon is a symbol of power and success, but also is known to protect the weak and vulnerable. A dragon on their own will be seen in pictures etc chasing a flaming ball, this ‘ball’ is really a huge pearl known as the Pearl of Truth.
That’s what I heard, so don’t quote me lol.
Amanda, thanks so much for your freebies, really appreciated. Lynn x

  59. Donna Mundinger

Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you so much! I love dragons, cute ones, scary ones, you name it. Love the movie “How to Train Your Dragon”. Wish I had one to train. xxD

  65. Rae Ann

She is gorgeous! My E11 is always a problem too. Now I check it each time before I color. I don’t know very many dragon legends, but I love books and movies about dragons like the ENTIRE Pern series, Eragon, Dragonheart, etc.

  66. Cazzy (Carol Vile)

Oooh, thank you. I was watching The Hobbit and there was a pretty scary dragon in that! Smaug or something like that. I also read some amazing books, one was called the Dragon Keeper, it was fascinating, all about how there were still dragons and they weren’t a totally bad thing to have and some people had a natural ability to tame them!

  67. Joanne

Thank you for the wonderful digi … my fav dragon is the one in the early sleeping beauty movie.

  68. Kathy

My favorite Dragon story growing up was of course “Puff the Magic Dragon”!!! ;-) Another “favorite” is on Roger Whittaker’s Christmas Album–Darcy the Dragon. If you’re in the mood for a little “Christmas in July” and want to hear this cute song–here’s the YouTube link to Roger Whittaker’s album………

  74. Wendy Jackson

So gorgeous, thank you! My kiddos love dragons. My son has a toy one called Sneezy (I think something like Fire Tongue would have been a much cooler name, but no, Sneezy it is). I’m watching an old series of Merlin at present and there’s a fab dragon in there, but I think Deneris Stormborns dragons are my current fav’s. Hugs, Wends xoxo

  75. Faith A

She is FABULOUS and I love the dragon on her shoulder. Thank you.

  76. Gina

There is Puff and Pete’s, but I was brought up with Smaug being the main dragon in our house. I all of a sudden realize that my childhood had lots of dragon representation especially since those are the ones that are just at the top of my mind. There are at least three or four more that I can’t put names to at the moment.

  77. Lisa West

Loved Puff the Magic Dragon as a kid…..and let’s not forget the Game of Thrones Dragons :-)
